DG16 Endo Explorer

DG16 Endo Explorers

The DG16 Endo Explorer was designed by Dr. David Green in 1951. The instrument was designed in its present form because a straight explorer and a cowhorn (#23) explorer did not enable the endodontists to locate a vast majority of canal orifices, especially in the posterior teeth. DG16 Endo Explorer enabled the clinician to better determine the angle of the canal orifice as the canal exits apically from the chamber. It ultimately was manufactured in three forms: a DG16, DG16/17 and DG 16/23, each having a specific function that enabled the successful performance of both non-surgical and surgical endodontic procedures.

DG16 Endo Explore is used for locating and opening of small canal orifices for an Endodontic procedure. It is also used to remove Calcification in Canal (in soft tissues). The tips of DG16 Endo Explorer are sharp and strong. Shank angulations are ideal for anterior and posterior applications. The unique design makes it the most popular general endodontic explorer for endodontic applications.
